The reserve of Vändåtberget

This reserve in the community of Örnsköldsvik is almost untouched by forestry. The spruce trees are at least 290 years of age and the pine trees 270. Except for different kinds of forests you’ll also find bogs and small lakes in the reserve. Principally it is fire that has created the look of the forest. Paths wind through the reserve and there is a little cottage for overnight stay at Inner-Abborrtjärn. Signpost from road 352, south of Studsviken.

In the Swedish site you will find a lot of information, both about the reserve and about the feeling of a virgin forest. If not able to understand Swedish, please choose "diary" at the main menu and enjoy the pictures by Leif Wikberg, from our visits in November each year. Eric
